This prog-rock acoustic trio from Krakow finds its pleasure in jostling the apparent limitations of their instrumentation. Starting from the unquenchable voice and cello of Natalia Orkisz, through the frantic guitar of Tomek Idziak and last but not the least the wild, heavy cajon played by Wiktor Machowski, who claims to be “a drummer happened to play a cajon”. Their inspirations come from art-rock, prog-metal, trip-hop and polish folk; their texts are poetic yet hard-hitting. Every song is different but each one could not be mistaken for any other band. It’s all about the build-up and drama and getting your full attention.
After finishing almost two-years hiatus in 2019 Box Anima won two important music contests in Poland, doubled their audience and recorded their debut album “Niepokój” (eng: “Anxiety”) which will be released in February 2020 and followed by two-weeks-long tour in March.
