Charisma on the stage, Iwona’s voice and Bartosz’s refined productions are the distinctive features of Rebeka.
The duo formed by Iwona Swarek and Bartosz Szczęsny released their third album in February, entitled “Post Dreams”. Usually, the centre of the band’s music are analogue synthesizers. But in this album, the musicians decided to go a step further, and so we can hear classical instruments here, such as strings and trumpet. The album contains a full amplitude of emotions. On the one hand, we are engulfed by delicately woven ornaments, and in the next moment we’re carried away by the roaring of cold wave guitars. You simply have to see the duo live, as they give full measure on the stage. They’ve played over 400 concerts in Poland and abroad. So far, they released three long-playing records, and their debut, “Hellada”, won the title of the Polish album of the year in the ranking by “Gazeta Wyborcza” daily. Rebeka was formed in 2008 by Iwona, composer and author of lyrics, who in 2010 was joined by producer Bartosz Szczęsny. They play as a duo until today, although on the tour promoting “Post Dreams” they will perform as a trio.
